Zentics Privacy Policy
In short
Zentics has no accounts, never asks for your name or email, shows no ads and sells no data. Your progress stays on your phone. The only thing that leaves your device is anonymous usage statistics, which you can switch off at any time in Settings.
Who is responsible
Francesco Muscari, developer of Zentics and data controller, domiciled in Milan (Italy). For any privacy question or request, write to support@zenticsapp.com.
Data that stays on your phone
The app stores only on your device your progress (levels, marathons, results) and your preferences (sounds, vibration, language, statistics choice): they are not sent to anyone. It also stores the installation date, used only to count the days elapsed when statistics are on. "Reset progress" in Settings deletes your progress; preferences and installation date remain until you uninstall the app, which deletes everything.
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand how the app is used, spot technical slowdowns and improve it, Zentics records a few usage events: for example when you start or complete a level or a marathon, how precise you were and how smoothly the screen ran, which screens you open, how long a session lasts. These are aggregate statistics about this app only, without identifiers, as allowed by the Italian Data Protection Authority's 2021 guidelines; for the subsequent processing the legal basis is the controller's legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Each event carries only generic information: platform (iOS or Android), app version, major operating-system version, language and country set in the system, days since installation.
No device identifier, no advertising ID, no name, no email and no location are collected. Each time the app starts, a temporary random code is generated in memory and never saved: this is why we cannot link two sessions together or trace them back to you. We call them "anonymous" for this reason: they are pseudonymous when collected and, once sent, no longer allow us to trace them back to you (Art. 11 GDPR).
This data is processed by PostHog (PostHog Inc., data processor) on servers in the European Union. PostHog does not reuse the data for its own purposes or pass it to third parties. The IP address, technically needed for the connection, is discarded on arrival and is neither stored nor used to derive your location. PostHog keeps the data for a maximum of 12 months.
You can object and switch statistics off at any time: Settings → Anonymous statistics. From that moment the app records and sends nothing, and any data not yet sent is deleted. Switching them off does not limit the app in any way. Zentics does no profiling and takes no automated decisions about users.
Sharing results
When you share a result, the image is created on your phone and handed to the app you choose (for example WhatsApp or Messages). Zentics does not receive or keep the image, and does not know who you shared it with.
If you write to us
If you use "Support" or "Email us", your mail app opens. We receive your message and your email address, and use them only to answer your request (legal basis: steps taken at your request, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep emails for as long as needed to handle the request and for at most 12 months afterwards, unless the law requires otherwise. Mail is handled by Cloudflare Inc. and Google LLC (Gmail), acting as data processors.
Providers outside the European Union
PostHog, Cloudflare and Google act as data processors and are based in the United States. Any transfer of data to them relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Arts. 45 and 46 GDPR). You can request a copy of these safeguards by writing to support@zenticsapp.com.
App Store and Google Play
Downloads, updates, reviews and crash reports go through Apple or Google, which act as independent controllers under their own privacy policies. Zentics receives no data from the stores that identifies you.
Children
Zentics is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 14; if you believe this has happened, write to support@zenticsapp.com and we will act on it.
Your rights
You have the right to request access to, rectification or erasure of your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability (Arts. 15–22 GDPR). Usage statistics do not allow us to identify you or link you to individual events (Art. 11 GDPR), but you can stop any future sending with the switch in Settings. For emails you have sent us, you can ask for deletion at any time by writing to support@zenticsapp.com. If you believe the processing breaks the law, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (garanteprivacy.it) or the authority in your country.
Changes and language
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top and, for substantial changes, let you know in the app. In case of discrepancies between the Italian and English versions, the Italian version prevails.
